Robert Mabie, 89, a lifelong Red Hook resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Livingston Hills Nursing Center in Livingston, NY.
Robert was born on April 16, 1928 in Red Hook, NY, to the late George and Hazel (Brizzie) Mabie.
Robert married Alice Coon at Christ Church in Red Hook, NY in 1951. Alice predeceased him on December 3, 2004.
Throughout his life, Robert was a dairy farmer at the family farm- Mabie Brothers Farm in Red Hook, NY. He also worked at Germantown Co-op, The Beverage Way in Red Hook, and Brook-in-Wood Camp Grounds in Livingston.
Robert was a life member of the Elizaville Fire Department and enjoyed spending his time bowling and square dancing.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Patricia Coons of Red Hook, NY; his sons. Mark Mabie of Red Hook, NY, Robert Mabie of Red Hook, NY, and Richard Mabie of Red Hook, NY; his grandchildren, Todd Coons of Red Hook, NY, and Malissa Mabie of Red Hook, NY; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to his wife, Robert is predeceased by his son Jerry Mabie; his brothers, Royden "Square" Mabie, Woodrow Mabie, Elmer Mabie, and William "Bucky" Mabie; and his sisters, Eleanor Mabie, Mildred Scism, Margaret Mabie, and Marion Dodge
Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Friday November 24, 2017 from 12 to 2 PM.
A Funeral service and internment will be held at 2PM on November 24, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook, NY.
