Julia Mary “Georgia” Bautovich, 71, of Staatsburg, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the Renaissance Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Staatsburg, NY. After a long illness.
Born on February 13, 1949, in Rhinebeck, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Violet (Yelcic) Bautovich. She attended Red Hook Schools and Dutchess County Boces.
For many years, Georgia lived in Wassic, Tivoli, the Brookstone in Clinton Corners and ultimately residing at Renaissance Center in Staatsburg, where she was known as Jules.
Georgia’s family would like to extend their love and appreciation for all the years of care and warmth shown to her during her 21-year stay at Renaissance Center. Well known by all the staff at Renaissance, she had playful nicknames for all of them.
Georgia enjoyed bingo and doing work search books, which she excelled. She was devote in her Catholic faith and proud of her Croatian heritage.
She is survived by her loving sister, Anna Varlaro of Rhinebeck, NY; her nephew and his wife, Joseph and Laura Varlaro of Rhinebeck, NY for whom she adored; along with several cousin, extended families and friends.
In addition to her parents, a brother-in-law, Michael Varlaro predeceased her.
Due to current restrictions, funeral services will be private and interment will in the Bautovich family plot at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hook.
Memorial donations may be made in Julia’s memory to the Renaissance Rehab and Nursing Center, 4975 Albany Post Rd., Staatsburg, NY 12580.
