Richard Renneman, 90, of Germantown, NY, passed away on Sunday, February 28th, 2021 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.
Born on April 9th, 1930, in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Walter and Louise (Graff) Renneman. Richard married Patricia Sinning on February 1, 1958 in Queens, New York, and she predeceased him on August13, 1992.
Richard was a US Army veteran and worked as a police officer with the Nassau County Police Department on Long Island, NY. He retired in 1976 as a Detective loving his work with the Homicide and Auto Squads.
Following his retirement, he moved his family to Germantown where he stayed active working for William's Lumber and enjoying woodworking, golf, playing cards and baking. He later grew to enjoy trips to casinos, Saratoga Racetrack and seeking fortune through scratch-off lottery tickets. He had an uncanny ability to remember jokes and had one for every occasion and situation.
Richard is survived by his children, Matthew (Joanne) Renneman of Red Hook, NY, and Audrey (Gene) Hallenbeck of Claverack, NY; his loving grandchildren, Christopher Renneman, Abby (Paul) Watson, Nicole and Erin Hallenbeck, great grandchild Christopher, as well as extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Pat, son Rick, sister Jean Hennelly, brother Walter Renneman and step-brother Fred Walter.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Albany Medical Center Cardiac Care Unit and the D4 north Cardiology unit for their compassionate care. We would also like to thank his friend/caregiver Brenda Houston and all his friends at Palatine Manor.
