Richard A. Klein, 84, a longtime resident of Red Hook, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 6th, 2021.
Born on August 18th, 1936, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Michael Sr. and Claire Klein. He was predeceased by his loving wife Madeline Klein, and brothers Michael, Jr. and Edward Klein.
Richard was a New York State Champion diver while attending Cardinal Hayes High School, a proud US Army Veteran, and graduate of Adelphi University. For many years and until his retirement, he worked at IBM in Kingston, NY. He went on to become the Code Enforcement Officer for the Village of Tivoli. Richard was a dog lover and had passions in clock and knife making, wood working, home renovation, fishing, and the New York Yankees, to name a few. An Alfa Romeo enthusiast, he owned several over the course of his life. He and Madeline spent most of their summer weekends at Caroga Lake in the Adirondacks. 'The Lake' will live on as a gathering place for family and friends.
Richard is survived by his children, Heidi (Dominick) Andriola, of Wappingers Falls, NY; Erika (Chad) Stuart of Evansville, WI; and Kurt (Greta) Klein of Highland, NY; his grandchildren, Matthew Andriola of Clinton, NY, Ethan and Molly Andriola of Wappingers Falls, NY; Madeline, Emma, William (Butter), and Parker Stuart of Evansville, WI; and Rylie and Rory Klein of Highland, NY; along with extended family and numerous friends.
