Obituary of Patsy V. Barringer

Patsy Jean Vaughan Barringer, age 89, passed away peacefully in her Orlando home in the early morning hours of Friday, April 30. Pat leaves behind a legacy and spirit that will live on in the hearts of family and friends who will miss her greatly. Before retiring in 1985, Pat served 33 years as work as a district secretary at IBM and 10 years as and administrative assistant at Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also dedicated her life to serving God and spending as much time as possible with her family. As a member of the Conway United Methodist Church, Pat spent countless hours impacting lives through her work in Sunday school, the rummage sale, and the food pantry. Pat, who will be remembered as a loving, caring, faithful and feisty pillar of her family, was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Stanley Barringer, her father Courtenay Vaughan, her mother Ida Vaughan, and her siblings Shirley Ann Vaughan, Betty Vaughan Peck, and Charles Vaughan. She is survived by nephews Wayne, Charles, Courtenay, Will, Tim, and their families who live outside of Florida. Locally, she is survived by niece Carrie, nephew and Godson Robert, Jo Cullen, Ralph and Dixie Hart, their daughters, Holli and Heidi, their families and several relatives and friends who will miss her greatly. Calling hours will take place at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 1413 S. Semoran Blvd., Orlando, FL, on Tuesday, May 4, 4-6 pm, with a memorial service directly following. Graveside services will be held at Church of St. John the Evangelist, 1114 River Road, Red Hook, NY, on Friday, May 7 at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Conway United Methodist Church, 3401 S. Conway Road, Orlando, FL 32812. Local arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY. .
